Information on Replacing the Hutchinson School Facade

The Board of Education and Pelham School District are planning to replace the yellow-brick facade of Hutchinson School. In July 2016, after observing some visual deterioration of the façade, the District hired Kaese and Lynch Architecture and Engineering LLP to conduct a full assessment of the building’s exterior. Based on the Kaese & Lynch report, the District has taken substantial short-term steps to ensure the safety of all students, staff and the community at-large. However, Kaese & Lynch recommends that the District replace the outer layer of brick on Hutchinson School, a process which could take two years once it begins. A professional cost estimator hired by the District projects the project to cost between $8.3 and $8.5 million.
