SPECIAL EDUCATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES

The Special Education Department provides a range of supports and services for students who have been identified as having a disability according to federal and state guidelines. Students with disabilities are provided individualized special education programs which, in addition to our different levels of academic support programs can include: related services, assistive technology, and accommodations/modifications in the general education classroom and/or the special education setting.

The Special Education staff, in conjunction with classroom teachers and other educational personnel, are committed to creating an effective climate for learning, providing and implementing program and testing accommodations as stipulated on the IEP and facilitating each student’s academic progress and social development by establishing appropriate goals and providing appropriate instruction.

We encourage our students to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses so that they can become advocates for themselves and be better prepared for the world after graduation.
