Tuesday, December 20th the French, Italian, Spanish and Asian Culture clubs went caroling at the Bayberry Nursing Home in New Rochelle.  PMHS students have been bringing holiday cheer to the Bayberry residents for over 16 years.  This year over 70 students participated and sang songs in French, Italian, Spanish and Mandarin.  After each club performed, the students and audience joined together to sing popular carols in English.  The event was a great success.

In order to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 - October 15), Mrs. Calvelli's Level IV students researched and presented power point projects to recognize and showcase the important contributions of famous Hispanics in the fields of Science, Government, the Arts and Sports.  As a culminating experience, the level IV students along with Ms. Guzman’s level V students visited the FRIDA KAHLO ART-GARDEN-LIFE exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden on Friday, October 23rd.  A total of forty students had the opportunity to examine Kahlo’s appreciation for the variety of the natural world as evidenced in the reproduction of her famed Casa Azul and gardens. The exhibit also featured a rare display of more than a dozen original paintings and drawings by the iconic artist.
